Glacier National Park is among those places in the world with take-your-breath-away scenery. However, these same features tell stories of the distant past that led to the national park that we know today. The rocks themselves tell the more than a billion-year history that shaped the area. However, it was tourism that brought the greatest number of visitors, and that indirectly led to the preservation and establishment of Glacier National Park.
