The Girl Left on Mulholland is a carefully researched true crime cold case account of the unsolved murder of Reet Silvia Jurvetson, once known only as Jane Doe 59. Her body was discovered near Mulholland Drive and Bowmont Drive on 16 November 1969, but her name would not be publicly restored for forty-six years.

The case has often been pulled toward the wider mythology of late-1960s Los Angeles. The timing, the brutality, and the Mulholland Drive setting made speculation almost inevitable. But suspicion is not proof. This narrative separates documented evidence from rumor, including the long shadow cast by the era's most notorious crimes, while keeping Reet-not the mythology-at the center of the story.
