Electricity for Electricians is a structured theory textbook for apprentices, classroom learners, working electricians refreshing their fundamentals, and candidates preparing for the theory portion of journeyman or master licensing examinations.

Starting with electrical safety and assuming no prior electrical knowledge beyond high-school algebra, the book develops the subject in the order an apprentice needs it. The twenty chapters move from charge, current, voltage and resistance into Ohm's law, power, energy, series and parallel circuits, Kirchhoff's laws and circuit analysis. From there, the reader works through conductor resistance and voltage drop, batteries, magnetism, AC waveforms, RMS values, inductance, capacitance, impedance, resonance, power factor and three-phase wye and delta systems.

The later sections apply that foundation to transformers, generators, DC motors, AC induction and synchronous motors, contactors, starters, overloads and control circuits. Grounding, bonding and overcurrent protection are explained from the behavior of fault current, while the final chapter connects test instruments, measurement categories, true-RMS readings, insulation-resistance testing and systematic fault isolation.

Each chapter is designed for active study:
