A vision system was designed and built based on free software platforms Octave and Linux, as for the hardware, a Logitech camera model C90 1080 was used, the Arduino one design platform, a bipolar stepper motor model M49-SP-3K controlled by an H-bridge model L298. The system is capable of performing 2D and 3D measurements and color analysis, within a viewing space restricted to a 40mm side cube with a resolution of .5mm. The results obtained were statistically analyzed and are shown in the results section. Future work is proposed to automate the volume measurement and color acquisition by zones.
