Dear Joe and Jane: AI Can Help You Acquire Your Next Target
Build Capability the Marketplace RewardsWhat if a career in AI isn't your next career?
What if it's the tool that helps you build your next capability?
Most books about AI teach prompts, tools, or automation. This field manual teaches something different: how to deliberately build capability that organizations value and the marketplace rewards.
Whether you're a veteran preparing for transition, a professional considering a career change, an educator, or simply someone wondering where you fit in an AI-enabled economy, this book provides a practical framework for turning uncertainty into evidence, and evidence into opportunity.
Inside, you'll learn how to:
- Conduct an honest personal Situation Report (SITREP)
- Read job postings like intelligence reports instead of wish lists
- Identify the capabilities employers repeatedly reward
- Build an AI Headquarters that supports better decisions without replacing your judgment
- Use writing, teaching, and publishing to strengthen your own understanding
- Create portfolio evidence that proves capability instead of merely claiming it
- Prepare for interviews using AI-assisted wargaming
- Recognize the hidden connections between your past experiences and your future opportunities
- Build a twelve-month Capability Campaign instead of chasing random certifications or trends
This isn't a book about becoming dependent on AI.
It's about becoming more capable because you learned how to use AI responsibly.
Throughout the book, retired U.S. Army Staff NCO Eric D. Jackson combines military planning principles, practical career development, and AI-assisted decision-making frameworks into a repeatable system anyone can use.
The doctrine remains simple:
AI advises. Humans decide.
If you've ever wondered:
- What career should I pursue?
- How do I compete in an AI economy?
- How do I prove my value to employers?
- How do I stop feeling like I'm starting over?
...this book was written for you.
You are not behind.
You are not starting from zero.
You are simply between one mission and the next.
It's time to acquire the capability your next mission requires.
