「索引者」一書為「混蒼生」思想系列的書籍其中之一，主要就是針對「混沌悟」部份的加強寫作，與「混蒼生」一書不同的是，「索引者」是定義「索引學」這種學問的「首發」書籍，讓大家知曉世界上還有一種知識學問科目叫「索引學」。
精通「索引學」的人可以輕鬆達到「第八感生滅」境界的知識學問修習，輕易看破各種人世的知識學問關節所在，進而基礎於其上來延展出各種可能性，而精通「索引學」的人也稱為「索引者」，本身就是一個知識「宇宙黑白洞」或「漩渦暴風」之類的「矛盾融合」存在。
只需要正確的相關實驗數據資料形成的資訊，就可以自行拓荒研發出解決之道，是一門不太容易練成的知識學問技藝，至少沒個10年以上的「自我思考」經驗技藝熟練能力的輔助，可能達不到修習「索引學」有所成就的水準，是屬於「研發」、「設計」、「顧問」、「資詢」...等，需要一把年紀才可能坐鎮有所成就的職銜者才需要擁有的學問。
