Photovoltaic solar energy is the direct conversion of light into electricity using solar cells. These cells are electrically interconnected in series or in parallel to form a photovoltaic generator, which is the essential component of a photovoltaic system. Its performance depends heavily on meteorological conditions such as irradiance and temperature. In the intertropical zone, these meteorological conditions-which influence the operation of the photovoltaic generator-vary rapidly. Our study therefore focuses on the characteristics of the photovoltaic generator when irradiance or temperature varies rapidly in the intertropical zone. To this end, we simulated the behavior of the photovoltaic generator using MATLAB/SIMULINK software, and the results showed that the generator's response time is proportional to the change in irradiance: a change in irradiance is instantly reflected in the current delivered by the photovoltaic module, and when the surface temperature of the photovoltaic module increases, the maximum power decreases.
