To finance state government operations, Alaska depends primarily on petroleum revenues and federal subsidies. The Tax Foundation has ranked Alaska as the fourth most business friendly state in the nation based on its tax policy. The oil and gas industry dominates the Alaskan economy, with more than 80% of the state's revenues derived from petroleum extraction. Alaska's main exports (excluding oil and natural gas) are seafood, salmon, cod, pollock and crab. Paul F.
