Walking with the Green Lady is an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Peruvian jungle and a young soul's search for courage and healing.
Fifteen-year-old Harvey lives a miserable life, relentlessly hounded by vicious bullies, he is riddled with self loathing, insecurity and anxiety. Things look bleak until Harvey is chosen to go on a school trip to Peru-an exciting escape from the fear, and torment that plagues him daily. However, as he steps into the dense Amazon rainforest, Harvey soon realizes that the worries he hoped to leave behind are still with him and what he thought would be a reprieve turns out to be a bigger nightmare than he could ever imagine.
As Harvey ventures deeper into the jungle, hope and help arrive in the form of the mysterious Green Lady, an eccentric local who opens his eyes to the jungle's hidden wisdom and spiritual power. Through unexpected trials and moments of sheer vulnerability, Harvey is forced to confront his innermost fears, finding new courage as he learns to navigate both the jungle's dangers and the challenges within himself. His journey will take him from feeling cowardly and weak to a place of self acceptance and deep understanding, as he learns to find strength in the face of his past and step forward with wisdom and self compassion..
The lessons imparted to Harvey in Walking with the Green Lady were given to the author when he embarked upon his own transformative experience with plant medicine in the Amazon. Rooted in the traditions of shamans and the healing power of the jungle, this story merges fact with fiction, bringing Harvey's fictional journey to life through the author's deeply personal encounters with indigenous spirituality, self-discovery, and healing.
