There comes a moment in the evolution of every civilization when it must have the courage to pause and ask itself a terrifyingly simple question: Are we truly civilized? We have built machines that can think faster than we do, rockets that can leave the earth, networks that connect every human being on the planet in an instant, and weapons that can erase entire cities in a second. We have invested all our genius in mastering the external world and almost nothing in mastering our internal world, and we are surprised that the chariot does not move. We are surprised that war continues, that racism continues, that corruption, poverty, tribalism, and hatred continue despite all our progress. _UNIVERSALISM: Science of Peace and Harmony_ is not just another book on philosophy to be debated in the ivory tower and forgotten. It is not a book of abstract theories reserved for specialists. It is a rescue mission for the human intellect. It is the first battle cry of a new intellectual movement that the author calls The Project of Humanism, and its ambition is nothing less than to rebuild the human being from the inside out, so that we can finally, truly rebuild the world from the outside in. The premise is simple and radical: you cannot have a peaceful world populated by chaotic minds. The chaos that reigns in the world is simply a mirror of the chaos that reigns within us. All our external projects for peace have failed because we have tried to build the United Nations without first building united minds. We have signed peace treaties without educating minds for peace. We have built walls, bombs, and surveillance systems worth trillions of dollars, but we have never invested seriously in the only project that can actually save us: the investment in the human intellect itself.
To explain why we have failed, Dr. Gha identifies a hidden tragedy that has afflicted humanity for centuries and that no one has dared to name properly. The greatest knowledge humanity has ever produced, the solutions to our most agonizing problems, has already been written by great scholars. But that knowledge has never reached the greatest number of human beings. It has been locked behind two invisible but impregnable prisons. The first is the prison of price. Knowledge has been commercialized. The best education, the best books, the best schools, the best ideas go to those who can afford them. We have created a system of intellectual apartheid where the rich do not just inherit money, they inherit better information, better formation, better intellectual capital, while the poor are left with crumbs, with superstition, with half-truths, with propaganda, with the intellectual equivalent of junk food. The second prison is the prison of complexity. Even when knowledge is technically available, it is written in a language that only a chosen few can decipher. Great authors have written great works that can only be interpreted by other great authors. Academic language has become a closed circle, a secret code designed to exclude rather than include. The result is that the masses, the very people for whom knowledge should be a tool for survival and liberation, have remained under-informed, misinformed, or completely uninformed about the true nature of the universe and their place in it.
