1. Her Own MoneyI'm not saying you need to be rich. But you need to be able to walk away. You need to know that if he leaves tomorrow, your rent is still paid. Your bills are handled. Your life continues.
A woman who financially depends on a man she's not married to is not unbothered. She's trapped. She's tolerating. She's negotiating her self-respect for stability.
Get your money right. Even if it's not much - make it YOURS.
2. Her Own PurposeWhat are you building? What are you working toward? What gets you out of bed that has nothing to do with a man?
A woman with a purpose doesn't have time to obsess over a man who's not obsessing over her. She's too busy. Too focused. Too locked in.
If your whole life is waiting for him to text back, you don't have a life. You have a waiting room.
Build something. Chase something. Become something.
3. Her Own PeaceBefore you can be unbothered by him, you need to be unbothered by yourself.
That means healing your wounds. Addressing your trauma. Understanding why you accept less. Knowing why you chase unavailable men. Getting to the root of why you don't believe you deserve better.
If you're at war with yourself, you'll let any man into your life just to feel temporary peace. That's not unbothered. That's escape.
Do the inner work. Go to therapy if you need to. Journal. Pray. Meditate. Whatever it takes - find peace INSIDE before you look for it in him.
4. Her Own StandardsWhat do you require? Not want. Not prefer. REQUIRE.
What are your non-negotiables? What behavior will you never tolerate? What treatment is beneath you?
If you don't know your standards, you'll accept whatever he gives you. And whatever is usually less than you deserve.
Write them down. Memorize them. And never - NEVER - negotiate them for a man who hasn't earned the right to even know them.
5. Her Own OptionsOptions for how you spend your time. Options for who gets your energy. Options for what you do with your weekends.
When he's your only option, he becomes your whole world. And when he's your whole world, you'll do anything to keep him even if keeping him means losing yourself.
A woman with options is never desperate. She's choosing. And the energy of CHOICE is the most attractive energy on earth.
