The Royal Book of Oz is a children's fantasy novel written by Ruth Plumly Thompson and first published in 1921. It is the tenth book in the Oz series and follows the adventures of Prince Randy of Regalia, who is transported to the magical land of Oz after being kidnapped by a wicked witch. In Oz, Randy meets a host of familiar characters, including the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion, as well as new friends like the Patchwork Girl, the Glass Cat, and the Hungry Tiger. Together, they embark on a quest to find the missing Princess Ozma and restore her to her rightful place as ruler of Oz. Along the way, they encounter many dangers and obstacles, including the evil Queen Coo-ee-oh, who seeks to usurp Ozma's throne. With its whimsical characters, imaginative settings, and exciting plot, The Royal Book of Oz is a beloved classic of children's literature that continues to captivate readers of all ages. The moon shone brightly, but everyone in the Emerald City was fast asleep! Through the deserted streets hurried the Scarecrow. For the first time since his discovery by little Dorothy, he was really unhappy. Living as he did in a Fairyland, he had taken many things for granted and had rather prided himself on his unusual appearance. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
