The writing of this book was inspired by a calling that supports my mission to empower anyone looking to define their place in the world. It takes you on a step-by-step journey of self-discovery where you will explore some of life's most challenging questions.
The book was written with every intention to stimulate a person's awareness in a way that will help them identify with their higher truth. Armed with awareness, the reader will be able to see how their thoughts are ultimately defining them. It is here that we will come to understand how our thoughts create our actions and how our actions will ultimately create our identity; but is this who we really are?
Understanding how we have become someone or something we are not, gives us the opportunity to change and effectively become the person we were meant to be. Awareness is the key to creating profound changes in a person's life. My vision is to see this book change many lives through the concept of building awareness. I am confident that this vision will be fulfilled once the reader applies the many techniques offered throughout this book and sees how their ability to change in an authentic way affects everyone around them. Becoming aware that we have the power to change our community while changing ourselves, teaches us the importance of compassion. In this way, the book is designed to encourage compassion for the self and others. Compassion can then be used as a powerful tool to help us define our purpose.
Throughout the book, the reader will find a collection of personal quotes, stories, and poems, which will support the many topics discussed. The topics are designed to stimulate questions within a person's mind, which will in turn challenges the reader to reflect on some deep thoughts. One of the more profound questions we will explore is the big, Who am I question? You will find that I have designated an entire chapter on this question alone. I believe that every seeker of truth will eventually ask this question at some point in their life. Excluding the fact that this question represents the title in our final chapter, you may notice that the answer to this question is actually unraveling throughout the context of the entire book.
I have also included within the context of this book my experience with various individuals who participated in my book study questionnaire. During this study, one hundred participants were asked a series of personal questions designed to lead them on a path of self-inquiry. Hence, the study was meant to encourage a person's awareness and therefore mimic the intentions of the book. The results of the study were overwhelming; the questionnaire had successfully stimulated the participant's thoughts as originally expected. This was very motivating to say the least. It had offered me the encouragement to commit to what was soon to become a long but passionate endeavor. I knew then that nothing was going to stop me from writing a book which would inspire people to change their lives.
In The Box you will find many symbolic keys that can be used to access the depths of your inner thoughts. Since no two people will experience life the same way, each of us will learn how to create our own personal key ring. As we travel along our path and collect our keys, we will soon discover how in effect we are defining our truth. I now welcome you to take this journey with me and experience the adventure of a life-time.
