True soldier poem: A true soldier in God's army. That's what I am. I'm saved and sanctified by the blood of the lamb. It's a fight each day, the road to recovery, but along the way I've made a discovery. It's a spiritual world, where war is held. In fighting the battles, I'm often compelled to give into my flesh, or evil temptations, but I must be strong to meet the Lord's expectations. He will not have me weak, and living in sin, so in prayer to Him is how my days begin. Now and forever, Jesus loves me, it's true, but there's times that I'm weak and it's hard to push through. During these times He helps me to be strong, to put things into perspective, back to where they belong. This spiritual battle, I fight, is one fought every day, and one that the devil would win if he had his way. His temptations are many, but none can I afford, for when I pay the devil's price I hurt Christ, my Lord. Yes, I'm a True Soldier, in God I trust, praying to be ready, to fight as I must, to stand in uprightness, and hold the line. At the end of recovery sobriety is mine.
