At first Torakinesis was going to be a much shorter offering and be solely spiritual in nature. But with the cultural, social, and economic tectonic shifts and changes going on all around me, I knew I had to touch on all the above topics and more. In truth, it makes sense for me to make that move, because from my perspective, Almighty God is at the center of everything. And I have a unique vantage point by being a Jewish/Hebrew/Israelite of Black African/ American heritage. Without Yahweh I would be completely lost. So, with this new collection of jewels, I'm really going in on a lot of my most personal, positive, and so-called controversial thoughts. Let the off-beat drum beat of cancel culture begin.!

I was asked when I first started writing Torakinesis, what was the foundational verse(s) from the Torah that got this project off the ground and in the air flying. The first thing that popped in my mind was Deuteronomy 6:4-9 -

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

This was my Beloved grandmom's (Queen Pauline Ramsey) favorite verses to quote almost every time that we were blessed to be in her presence. She was a devoted servant of God, and she did the duty of a civilized woman and steward of the Covenant everyday of her life. I really feel like I was channeling her sprit as I was writing. She taught us that Deuteronomy 6:4-9 was our declaration of Hebrew faith and our daily orders to get busy and do the work that Almighty God commanded us to do. Torakinesis is my humble offering to The Most High God, and my loving tribute to her.
