I named this group of poems and thoughts, Pyroclastic Flow because I felt like erupting and burning down all the negativity and anti-black bullshit in my path. Watching the news, talking with my family and friends, and just meditating on the current state of this country, I felt like exploding! My patience level with all this bullshit is at an all-time low. As you read these jewels, you will see and feel my deep frustration and disappointment in them and us. I know exactly what got us here but to quote Dr. Amos Wilson, it's time for black people to get over our ignorance This is a mother fuckin FACT! It's time! It's time Beloved!

My anger might be boiling over the pot, but I knew that I had to infuse this body of work with some hope, love, and an unbreakable faith in us and Almighty God. No matter how fucked up it is or how dark the sky gets, we will survive this horrible moment. We will save ourselves, our community, and our future. We will fall in love with us again! I know this for a fact!
