This Citizen's Guide to Balancing unbalanced Power Relationship's (Warnings & Instructions) is my poetical offering to the quest for societal harmony and equilibrium. The challenges that we are facing cannot be answered by only going into the voting booth to press a button every 2 to 4 years. Voting is just a small part of the work that must be done. The overwhelming majority of the heavy lifting must be done by a large portion of the black community working in concert with each other. We must move the conversation from striving for social democracy to one of acquiring economic democracy. It will be through internal group economic investments and not online social demonstrations, that we will have the kind of collective power necessary to reverse our downward spiral into economic and social oblivion. In this Citizen's Guide I have framed the conversation in the form of Warnings and Instructions. For every 5 Warnings that I give, I give you an equal amount of Instructions. I do not want this poetical discussion to just be about what you should not do. I want to present some progressive and tangible solutions for what we can accomplish collectively. My ultimate goal is to continue the conversation and help motivate the action that will bring balance to the unbalanced power relationship that the black community communities and cultures.
