The book draws on the osteopathic tradition of Still, Sutherland, Becker, and Jealous, the biodynamic model of Franklyn Sills, trauma-informed somatic work from Peter Levine and Stephen Porges, and the prenatal and perinatal field of Castellino, Emerson, and Menzam-Sills.
It also takes seriously what most manual therapy books leave out: the practitioner's own unresolved material, how it distorts the field, and what supervision and personal work are actually for.
