Maggie certainly has her work cut out for her. Magnificent Louise Summerfield, normally called Maggie, is sixteen years old and has been investigating crimes for years. She is invited to attend a fancy fashion soirée in the mansion of Madame Solstice Pepperday and is asked to wear one of the gowns in Madame's new line of clothing, so Maggie essentially becomes a fashion model at this party. The body of a woman is discovered in one of the rooms in the mansion during the party, but this murder makes no sense to Maggie or the police. The murdered woman is barely known by any of the scores of international guests and no real motive can be imagined for such a terrible crime. This will most certainly be an unusual and complicated investigation. STRAIGHT TO THE HEART is the second installment in the Magnificent Mysteries series and continues following the developing life of Magnificent Summerfield, her extraordinary style of investigation, interrogation and deep personal commitment and the real inception of her own private detective agency.
