The word HOME and how it is defined and understood is a very personal experience. For our travelers Frank, Grant, Lilly and Esther, this elusive idea of where they actually belong has been stretched to the limit as a result of their amazing experiences and the close friendships they have been able to forge in ancient Scandinavia. They now find themselve potentially remaining in Denmark for an extended time in the past and they all are coming to terms with this idea in their own ways. Of course, the politics in 979 have become even more complicated as various monarchs are struggling for power and our travelers are finding themselves involved in some of those struggles in potentially deadly ways. Frank has continued to yield himself to his uncomfortable gifts and the ensuing dreams and visions are never easy, but he finds support from Ralf's daughter Aqvillina, who is also gifted as a seer but is only four years old. All four travelers continue to immerse themselves into the culture and community of Jelling.
THE WAY HOME is a story about how difficult it can be to belong in more than one place but how gratifying it can be to connect to a completely different culture. It also illustrates the difficulties in answering the fundamentally important questions of who we are and where we belong.
