Spiritual Entrepreneurship: Raw Reflections of a Female CEO is a heartfelt account of a business owner's experience navigating the start-up world while pursuing spiritual growth. Author Sheri Smith defines a spiritual entrepreneur as someone who runs an enterprise with the purpose of expanding love, not extracting gain. This book discusses three dimensions of spiritual entrepreneurship:
- The business becomes an integral part of the founder's spiritual journey.
- Whether they know it or not, employees working for the spiritual enterprise join the company because it's part of their spiritual path.
- The business itself develops a purpose and life force of its own.
These three dimensions happen simultaneously to produce the greatest possible result. However, this can confuse a founder juggling these dimensions while also trying to manage and run a business. This is not a formulaic self-help book or roadmap. Instead, it is a compilation of personal reflections that often seem at odds with the advice given out by traditional venture experts.
Endorsements for the Book:Sheri Smith's Spiritual Entrepreneurship: Raw Reflections of a Female CEO is a book for anyone interested in imagining a positive, constructive next step of capitalism and business in our world. She speaks about a new way of doing business that incorporates the mind, body, and spirit. Moving away from the simply transactional world of late-stage capitalism, she integrates the humanity of buyer, seller, and community stakeholders.
By telling real-world business stories of her own personal adventure as a female CEO she keeps the book practical and engaging. She shows in straightforward comparisons what our current free market venture model offers and how a new model that includes the best of that system could look like when it engages people at the soul level. If you've felt exhausted and uncomfortable in our business world, Sheri's strategic future vision is worth reading.

This book is a gift - an invaluable traveling companion for the spiritual entrepreneur finding their way through the complex process of launching a new venture. Sheri's personal success story serves as the inspirational backdrop throughout the book, and she augments it with cutting insights into business strategy, ancient wisdom from a myriad of sources, and a number of critically important entrepreneurship tools. If you're concerned that going the entrepreneurial route will demand that you leave behind your ideals or your values, worry no more. Buy this book, and Sheri will walk you through the process of bringing your whole, integrated self into the venture-building journey.
- Rabbi Elan Babchuck, Founding Executive Director of The GLEAN Network for faith-rooted leaders and Executive Vice President of The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership, Inc.
Spiritual Entrepreneurship is a true gem, combining insightful ideas with engaging conversation and real-life experiences. The author masterfully weaves together thought-provoking quotes and personal anecdotes to bring their message to life in a relatable and easy-to-understand manner. Sheri's incorporation of the work of Dr. Robert S. Hartman in Chapter's 4 and 7 are standouts, presenting a clear and well-articulated viewpoint of his Axiological framework for redefining value. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fresh perspective on life, and I believe it will be a valuable asset to my client base.
