La Cronología General de las Migraciones de España es una obra sintética que rastrea los movimientos migratorios significativos en la península ibérica a lo largo de dos milenios, abarcando desde la era romana hasta los reinados godos, visigodos, musulmanes y cristianos. Este estudio también incluye breves análisis de las leyes que regularon las relaciones entre diversos grupos étnicos y religiosos, como cristianos, judíos, musulmanes, africanos y gitanos, durante estos períodos.
La obra comienza en el siglo III, destacando la posible llegada de judíos a Hispania, como mencionan autores romanos como Estrabón, Juvenal, Tácito y Flavio Josefo.
En el siglo III, tras la promulgación del Edicto de Caracalla en 202, los judíos obtuvieron un estatus similar al del resto de los ciudadanos del Imperio Romano, con un asentamiento predominante en las ciudades. La existencia de lápidas en lugares como Villamesías (Cáceres) y Adra (Almería) es testimonio de su presencia y asimilación en la sociedad romana, aunque estas lápidas se hayan perdido con el tiempo.
