This pamphlet is a reply to Dr. J. Marion Sims' pamphlet entitled The Woman's Hospital, which was published in 1874. Sims had claimed credit for founding the hospital, but Peaslee, Thomas, and Emmet dispute that claim. They present evidence to support their argument that the hospital was actually founded by a group of women led by Lucy Webb Hayes, the wife of President Rutherford B. Hayes. An important document in the history of women's healthcare and advocacy.
