Two men sit at a kitchen table after supper. One of them says it plainly: he has come to believe that Jesus Christ will finally reconcile every person to God. Every person. Not one left in the dark forever. His friend sets down his cup. He is not scoffing - he is thinking. What about judgment? What about the warnings of Jesus? What about the man who dies wanting nothing to do with God?
All right, he says at last. Show me.
This book is written for both of those men - and for everyone who has ever stood where either of them stands.
Working through twelve chapters, The Reconciliation of All takes the great objections seriously - human freedom, terrible evil, the Cross, the warnings of Jesus, the seriousness of judgment - and treats them not as obstacles but as the road the argument must walk. It is not a book that softens judgment, dismisses hell, or grants cheap universalism. It is a book that argues from Scripture - carefully, passage by passage - that the Father who wanted children before the ages began has designed the ages, the Cross, the judgment, and the fire itself to serve one end: every person freely home in Christ.
Twelve chapters covering:
- The Father's purpose before the problem of sin
- All things created through Christ and for Christ
- A purpose designed for every person - not just the elect
- Why sin is serious - because love is serious
- The Cross is greater than the ruin
- Judgment as restoration, not abandonment
- The ages of God's restoring work
- Freedom, healing, and the final yes
- The biblical horizon of all - every passage examined
- This hope in church history - it is not new
- Until God is all in all
The second man at the table had serious objections. He did not intend to surrender them easily. This book does not ask him to. It asks only whether Scripture may tell a larger story than either man was shown.
A volume in The Master Plan Library - a collection exploring God's love for mankind, the purpose of the ages, and the final fullness of all things in Christ.
