He speaks about the Anfechtungen - the attacks of spiritual darkness that the monastery could not cure - and about the floor that holds when everything else gives way. About the phrase in Romans 1:17 that he hated for years and that, when it finally opened, felt like the gates of paradise swinging wide. About grace alone, faith alone, Scripture alone - not as slogans but as the blood-tested discoveries of a man who had tried every alternative and found them all insufficient.
