Preparing meals for two people when I got married and progressing up to twelve people from adults down to toddlers then back to cooking for two people in my retirement years prepared me for writing this cookbook, with Recipes for Planned Overs. The directions for Recipes in this book with similar Ingredients are streamlined for efficient preparation on a daily basis. I provide some of my preferences for Brand Names and House Brands to encourage exploration of the differences among products available in other regions. Some of the reasons for my choices are usually the subtle changes in flavor and texture. There are over 100 entries including Polish Recipes that I learned from relatives and friends and are identified with Polish names. So what is the difference between Left-Overs and Planned Overs? Planned Overs are foods that are taken from the original cooking appliance: a kettle, baking dish or Slow Cooker, then cooled and stored without being served. My husband and I are retired and sometimes just plain tired. Planned Overs come in handy to prepare nutritious meals. Some months we even have some Planned Overs to share with guests.
