On Friday, April 3rd, AD 33, outside the gates of Jerusalem, at Golgotha, in Judea, the execution by crucifixion for the crime of sedition took place of a man known as Jesus of Nazareth. Labelled mockingly by guarding Roman legionnaires as ''King of the Jews'' Jesus was crucified between two convicted thieves and died around three o'clock in the afternoon after a tormented six hours. Following this his body vanished from a burial tomb and strange stories emerged of Jesus being seen alive across Jerusalem and elsewhere. Such tales caused consternation for Judea was a troublesome, rebellious province of the Roman empire. A powder keg where false prophets promising freedom from Rome's vice like grip came and went with disturbing regularity. But Jesus was different. Death had not been his downfall, more a rallying call for how do you beat an enemy that refuses to die? Word reaches Rome of Jesus's miraculous return, and the Emperor Tiberius, himself fearing such flames may reach even there orders an investigation. Tiberius orders former General Lucius Cassio to travel to Judea to conduct a Roman Enquiry...
