...Manchester. 22nd July 1953...
At the Palace theatre on Oxford Road, a miserable looking, thirty-seven-year old, Frank Sinatra, is playing to a half-filled theatre. He sounds good, splendid even but that magic which made the girls swoon has vanished. The ''Ol blue eyes'' aren't sparkling as his career appears on the wane. As does Frank's marriage to Ava Gardner. Then he meets Harry the Mancunian policeman from Newton Heath and our story truly begins!
