Why does the God of ancient texts so often appear morally inferior to modern humans who have internalized consent, proportional justice, and basic human dignity?
This compact but powerful scholarly examination applies contemporary psychological frameworks - including DSM-5 criteria for Narcissistic Personality Disorder and antisocial personality traits - to the divine characterization found in Abrahamic scriptures. The results are as illuminating as they are uncomfortable.
Drawing on decades of Wayist scholarship combined with anthropological and psychological analysis, this book explores how Bronze Age trauma and authoritarian social structures became embedded in theological models that billions still inherit today. From Freud's projection theory to Nietzsche's slave morality critique, thinkers have long sensed this dissonance. What modern clinical psychology now offers is precise diagnostic language for what they intuited.
This is not an attack on faith. It is an invitation to maturity.
Readers working in psychology, therapy, sociology, or comparative religion will find here a rigorous framework for understanding how narcissistic and antisocial divine characterization has shaped Western culture's relationship with authority, consent, and moral development - and why so many people raised in these traditions carry wounds that match the clinical profile of narcissistic abuse.
This book is for those ready to ask the questions that spiritual maturity demands.
