A Nearling Arises
In Maiden of a Darkness Shining, the saga of Evermore's green-eyed Maiden lives on in this wholly unpredictable, unconventional, and uncompromising story of a young girl chosen to lead a Realm to Reclamation.
Life is comprised of many things, some of which leave us empty.
And in that emptiness exist the many things that fill us up- -A wall plaque located somewhere in the Bristol House library

A young girl living in a magical mansion, surrounded by magical friends, expected to rise up against magical foes in an attempt to resurrect a magical Realm? Cute, you say? How sweet, you think? Far from it. So, don't get any preconceived notions. And don't label a fantasy such as this fun-or think it mere child's play. For although there are light-hearted and humorous moments, there are those that are devastatingly brutal and life-ending, and adults are destined to interact in their vital roles, and younger people theirs, in this most serious and imaginative adventure certain to captivate fully the heart, mind, and creative soul of the reader.
Here in the second installment of The Ruins of Evermore series titled Maiden of a Darkness Shining, twelve-year-old Heather Nighborne is called upon to journey to Evermore-the land of Maidens-in her ever-maturing role as the prophesied green-eyed Maiden of the Evermore Portent. And as the Nearling Maiden, she is expected to save a Realm twisted under the hand of Darkness, in the shadow of the Dahklarr Herth-an endeavor simply stated but so intricately involved in its ever-present danger, alluring mysteries, and ruthless entanglements, all taking place against a backdrop of the fantastical and unexpected.
So, join our fearless heroine and her sidekick Molly Pringle-along with Aria, the Evermorian SoulSylph who inhabits Heather's body from time to time-as they venture among the hairpin twists and turns of plot in a story that steamrolls to its dramatic and astonishing conclusion, culminating with its iMagiNacia-inspired battle scene that unfolds like no other before it, and afterwards in a dire race for the PortalDoor that will leave the reader emotionally breathless.
And that's just in Evermore. Meanwhile, between journeys and in their small hometown of Noble, other strangely sinister, life-threatening events are brewing that involve Heather and her best friend...
But hold on just a moment. Before all this excitement can begin, destiny's Maiden Portent has a problem. As is apparent from the story's opening pages, such a difficult quest is made all the more difficult for the charismatic Heather when first she must recover from the searing emotional wounds suffered during her previous Evermorian adventure, starting with her greatest loss, that of her guardian grandmother. Yet, in the true spirit of such a gifted youngling, in an effort to right her world gone horrifically wrong, for the sake of the disbanded MaidenHood and the future of a Realm torn asunder, let the unforgettable journey begin. Evermore.
Part Three
Setting their sights on Wisenhope, the legendary Lost City of Maidens, Heather, Molly, and their compatriots first seek to obtain TravelTaggs in TiaraReign. Aware of their plans, Evermore's Sorceress Sisters plot an ambush to greet them upon arrival. Aided by Aria's iMagiNaciale conjurations, an epic battle erupts in the CityHeights. Afterward, Heather and her group of Maiden Loyalists are sought and discovered in the forest by the forces of the Dark-the Dahklarr Herth-and a dire, deadly race for the PortalDoor ensues. Meanwhile, back in Noble, forces of a different darkness await the girls' return in a powerful Evermorian conclusion to the story.
