This book explores the paradox of a man standing at the intersection of two gravitational forces: wife and mother-each convinced they are the constant, while the other is the variable.
Chapter 1: The First Constant -Minu (Mother)
Dipu's childhood world is simple: his mother, Minu, is everything.
I didn't raise you to be someone else's, she says once, half-joking, fully serious.
This chapter builds emotional roots-how a mother's love quietly becomes identity.
Chapter 2: The New Variable-Sabi (Wife)Enter Sabi-intelligent, expressive, modern.
She doesn't want to replace Minu, but she refuses to be secondary.
I married you, not your hesitation.
This chapter introduces tension-not conflict yet, but difference in emotional language.
Chapter 3: The Equation FormsMarriage happens. Rituals bind. Expectations collide.
Dipu feels like a bridge... but slowly realizes he is becoming a battlefield.
Part II: Contradictions EmergeChapter 4: Care vs Control
Minu believes: Love means protecting, guiding, correcting.
Sabi believes: Love means trusting, supporting, letting grow.
Dipu stands between: If I agree with one, I betray the other.
Chapter 5: The Kitchen PoliticsA seemingly trivial setting becomes symbolic.
Minu: This is how our family does things.
Sabi: But I am family too.
Food becomes identity. Authority becomes invisible war.
Chapter 6: Time Allocation ProblemWho gets Dipu's time?
Mother counts presence
Wife counts attention
Dipu realizes time is not equal to love-but both measure it differently.
Chapter 7: Words That Wound Without SoundSilences, passive remarks, indirect complaints.
Minu: Nowadays, sons forget...
Sabi: I don't feel like I belong here.
Dipu begins internal fragmentation.
Part III: The Internal CollapseChapter 8: Dipu's Solitude
Even in a full house, Dipu feels alone.
He starts questioning:
What is fairness?
Can love be balanced?
Is neutrality a form of betrayal?
Every decision produces guilt.
Supporting Sabi → guilt toward Minu
Supporting Minu → guilt toward Sabi
No matter what I choose, I lose.
Chapter 10: The ExplosionA confrontation finally happens.
All unspoken things erupt.
Minu: She took you away.
Sabi: You never let him go.
Dipu realizes the truth:
Neither is wrong. Neither is fully right.
Chapter 11: Love Is Not a Competition
Dipu begins to see:
Mother's love = past investment
Wife's love = future partnership
They are not rivals-they exist in different dimensions.
Chapter 12: The Language of LoveMinu speaks in sacrifice.
Sabi speaks in equality.
Dipu learns:
Conflict is not about love-it's about expression.
Dipu finally acts.
He doesn't choose one.
He defines space.
I am your son. I am her husband. I cannot be reduced to one role.
