This study focused on the challenges associated with providing trauma-informed support to refugee minors. This is a particularly sensitive area of work, as there is a constant risk of re-traumatisation or post-traumatic stress disorder if trauma has not been adequately processed. Only if they succeed in truly processing their trauma can they successfully complete their school and vocational training in this country and avoid passing the trauma on to their own children - a phenomenon known as transgenerational trauma.
