Often life feels like an episode of The Price is Right. Each day offers us choices, new doors to open. As in the popular game show, we're challenged to choose the right door, often with very little information. Choosing wrong yields a worthless zonk and getting sent home with nothing. Choosing right might mean winning a new car and a trip around the world. Contestants listen to the audience, trusting those hundreds of people to give them guidance, hoping to get it right. It's easy to forget the audience is guessing in the dark, just like us. And in real life, we don't get to decide what's behind any of the doors. Life happens without our consent. What happens when we choose right and yet behind the door we open today at 8 AM, an oncologist is sitting at his desk waiting to tell us we get a very painful expensive zonk. He may well tell us we are going to be put out of the game, very soon. Another day, we may enter a contest and win the grand prize, a thirty-day first-class journey around the world for two. Those calling me on the phone will hear my message, Life is ten percent what happens to us and ninety percent how we respond to it. I trust my Creator knows what's behind every door I face in life. I trust His Spirit will guide me and give me the wisdom to choose well in life. Heavy lifting for me is trusting that what I see as a zonk often is the best thing in the world for me. More than once, zonks have saved my life, literally. Knowing my Creator has all knowledge and loved me all the way to a Roman cross allows me to have a red-letter day every day. All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purposes. Attitude is everything. Choose well.
