The American economy runs on the backs of small businesses, so we need to power our retirement on the same premise.
It's tough for individual investors to purchase debt and equity in small businesses, so we can rely on Business Development Companies (BDCs) to issue loans to these small companies.
We, in turn, can invest in BDCs that yield 8-12%. BDCs can make loans but also take an equity stake in companies, which allows them to participate in some of the upside.
BDCs make a great addition to our income-investing portfolios for retirement. Why not capture the heart of America while living the American dream? Good Luck!
