Sigismondo is a dramma per musica in two acts by Gioachino Rossini to an Italian libretto by Giuseppe Foppa, based on an earlier libretto, also titled Sigismondo, by Gaetano Gioja. The opera premiered at the Teatro Fenice in Venice in 1814.
This edition presents the complete libretto. Rossini's operas remain popular for their beautiful melodies and dramatic storytelling. Sigismondo, though lesser known than some of his other works, offers a valuable glimpse into the composer's early output and the conventions of Italian opera during the early 19th century.
