There are portals in the heavens, pathways that lead to realms beyond the stars.

A chance Fae/Native American encounter leads to a fight for survival, and love that transcends time and space.

Sárán, the Elder Prince of the Aos Si, ruling clan of the Fae, believes his most dangerous enemy, Daighre, has been defeated, but the Elven sorcerer has escaped imprisonment and once again menaces the Fae clans. This time Daighre comes to the battle armed with the powers of Necromancy, the ability to call up the wraiths of the dead. In a desperate confrontation, Sárán, wounded and helpless, is carried away from his world by a violent and inexplicable windstorm.

Mariel Dana, a member of the Wabanaki tribes and an ex-Marine living in a secluded cabin in Maine, grapples with her own demons. Her past trauma from serving in Iraq has left her with PTSD, and she seeks solace in the quiet of her grandfather's cabin at Cross Point. This sacred location, according to Abenaki tribal lore, serves as a spiritual crossing point for ancient Native spirits. When a wounded winged man mysteriously appears at Cross Point in a whirlwind that deposits him in the lake, Mariel's life takes an unexpected turn. And so does Sárán's, who finds himself in a world vastly different than his own.

As Mariel and Sárán learn of one another, they must find a way for him to return home while keeping his true identity hidden from a local eccentric and nosy alien hunter who believes he is on the trail of a genuine space alien, and may have ties with the Pentagon's paranormal investigative department.
