HOW TO BECOME A WIZARD The story centers on a fantastic journey of a young girl and her newfound wizard. The main characters are Ben and Nell. Ben is a man in his 40's. He has a job, a house, a very stable and incredibly boring lifestyle. The very last thing he wants in his life is to break the routine, let alone discovering that magic does exist. Nell is an 8-year-old girl who tragically lost her parents and was forced to move across the country to live with her grandmother in San Francisco. If there is anybody who can make magic become alive, it is Nell.
Nell has one wish, who is more important than anything else. She really needs to see her parents one more time as she fears that she will forget them. Nell's dad and her own research from the library suggest that a wizard might be able to make that possible. Eventually, Nell discovers something that leads her to Ben's house. Unfortunately, he doesn't want to have anything to do with Nell or any kind of magic in that matter. Accidentally, Ben and Nell stumble across a door into a magic land that is nothing short of adventure, beauty, and action. The story involves a dragon, a land of giant insects, other fairy tale creatures and plenty of fantastic miracles.
Furthermore, it is not just about the adventure itself, but also about the development of a deep friendship between Ben and Nell. Despite their differences, they find a way and stick together. Eventually, Ben does become a wizard. However, that by itself doesn't seem to work...
