Venture into the whimsical world of Edward Hitchcock's History of a Zoological Temperance Convention, a satirical account of a temperance meeting held by animals in Central Africa in 1847. Written with a sharp wit and keen observation, this allegorical tale critiques human society through the lens of a fantastical zoological gathering. Published in 1855, this unique work blends humor, social commentary, and natural history into a delightful and thought-provoking narrative. Discover the animals' perspectives on temperance and morality in this enduring classic that continues to resonate with readers today.
