As an architectural consultant, I have always found inspiration and purpose in all sorts of building interior, creating environments in the medical world bringing my touch of Scandinavian design both on commercial and residential property projects.
What began as a terrifying loss of control in the water evolved into a cascade of devastating diagnoses: a previously undiagnosed significant heart defect requiring seven surgeries and procedures, the sudden bone marrow cancer diagnosis necessitating a life-saving transplant, and finally, the insidious onset of Parsonage-Turner Syndrome, resulting in paralysis in my upper extremities.
This book seeks to blend the raw, sometimes harrowing reality of my experiences with a reflection on the enduring power of the human body.
It's an attempt to translate the unreal emotions of fear, uncertainty, and despair into a story that offers hope and resonates with others who have navigated similar landscapes of illness. When it rains -it pours, but it will dry out and the sun will come up.
