Online media have become one of the most informative sources of information today. The first encounter with the content of a media text takes place via headlines, which provide internet users with information in a highly condensed form. Headlines in media texts have not yet been sufficiently studied from a linguistic perspective. The aim of this thesis is to examine headlines in online media from a lexical-semantic, syntactic and pragmatic perspective, as well as to analyse the didactic value of the headlines for teaching German as a foreign language.
