Amidst the sacred dialogue of Kurukshetra, where the Bhagavad-Gita bridges human longing and divine wisdom, we find in this canto Arjuna asking Bhagwana Shri Krishna a simple yet profound question: who is the greater yogi -- one devoted to the formless Absolute or one who worships the personal God? Chapter Twelve, the Bhakti-Yoga, is Bhagwana's luminous answer.
Shri Krishna affirms that both paths lead to the supreme goal, yet the path of devotion (bhakti) is often more accessible, anchored in love and surrender. Krishna paints the portrait of a true devotee: free from envy, steady in joy and sorrow, modest, un-vindictive, and unwavering in faith. Such a heart becomes the Lord's own dwelling place. This chapter is the Gita's hymn to love as the highest yoga, where knowledge and action find their fulfillment in the intimacy of devotion.
