A Manual of History and Curiosities on the diverse editions of the best seller of the Cinquecento, the masterpiece of Giovanni Boccaccio, known originally as Boccacci, as the Mannelli Codex shows and Vincenzo Borghini explained in his Prohemio in the edition of 1573. The importance of this book should rely in the perception of some reproductions in color. This however makes the book very expensive. The book does not narrate the novels of Boccaccio but the interaction of scholars' examination of the text in transit toward its perfection in style and language and in accordance to cultural and religious traditions and new contemporary events of the period of Renaissance and Reformation. The manual is composed to render possible a survey of the most important editions of the Decameron for the experts and students of Boccaccio and may also surprise them in the effort and possibility of comparing texts and thus satisfy their curiosity.
