Gott sprach. Und der Klang zog vorüber. Aber aus jenem Klang entstand keine Wahrheit, sondern Religionen. Der Eröffnungssatz dieses Buches ist keine Siegesgeschichte, sondern eine Diagnose. Wenn Gott allmächtig ist und sein Wort vollständig, warum wandern heute auf der Erde einander feindliche Götter umher? Warum wird dasselbe Wort in so vielen Händen zum Messer? Die Wunde liegt in der Methode selbst. Wie passt das Unendliche ins Endliche, wie fällt das Transzendente in die Sprache? Dieser Knoten wurde nie gelöst und nie aufgegeben; immer wieder derselbe Weg, dasselbe Instrument: Worte. Kernthese: vielleicht ist Gottes einziges Problem, sich selbst auszudrücken.
Die christliche Tradition überschritt jene Grenze früh: Das Wort genügte nicht, das Wort wurde Fleisch. Gott spricht nicht mehr nur, er wird sichtbar; tritt in die Geschichte ein; wird verwundet. Im Anfang war das Wort - dieses Wort steht nicht still; es geht, berührt, vergie t sein Blut. Der Koran hält genau dort inne. Ein Schritt näher, ein Schritt zurück. Er nennt Jesus Kalimatuhu und einen Geist von ihm, aber nicht Gott. Das Wort ist erhaben, aber nicht auf dem Thron - keine Ablehnung, eine Grenzziehung. Das Buch geht diese Verwerfungslinie entlang - Gottes Beharren auf dem Sprechen und die fortwährende Auflösung des Wortes.
Der Text öffnet diese Linie systematisch. Rahman und Rahim sind zwei Dimensionen: die nicht-physische göttliche Vaterschaft und die handelnde Göttlichkeit in Menschennähe; in der Maryam-Sure fallen sie bei Jesu Geburt zusammen. Der Logos wird vom Feuer Heraklits über die Stoa und Philon bis zu Johannes' das Wort wurde Fleisch verfolgt - dann tritt die Koran-Triade Kün-Qāla-Qul als drei Ringe desselben Wortes hervor. Das ontologische Gewicht von Kalimatullah wird in den sieben Worten der Basmala gelesen. Von Arius bis zum Koran wird eine christologische Hierarchie errichtet und die Spur des fruchtbarsten Häretikers der Geschichte im Koran verfolgt. Jesu Koran-Titel - Kalimatuhu, Ruh Allah, Ruh al-Qudus, der göttliche Atem, Abdullah - werden nicht als Trinität, sondern als hierarchische Einheit gelesen.
Allahs Attribute werden christologisch gelesen: Wakil, Warith, Wasi, Wali, Fürsprache. Das Paradox des al-ghayb - wie kann ein Gott, der die Zukunft kennt, zugleich freien Willen einräumen - wird eröffnet. Die verborgenen Adressaten des Korans - Ulu'l-Albab, Ulu'l-Azm, Ulu'l-Amr - werden in ihrer Verbindung zum Arianismus und zur Substanztheologie untersucht. Zuunterst: die Unterscheidung zwischen HÛ und Allah. HÛ ist das absolute Unerkennbare, das unnennbare Wesen; Allah ist der sich manifestierende Gott. Dieses ontologische Trennmerkmal zwischen Gott und Gottheit trägt das philosophische Rückgrat.
Keine Polemik: es macht Jesus nicht zum Gott, verleugnet aber ebenso wenig, warum er so zentral steht. Wer Karen Armstrongs A History of God las, wer Reza Aslans vergleichenden Blick schätzt, wer Fazlur Rahmans Koran-Lesung ernst nimmt, findet hier eine seltene systematische Theologie aus türkisch-niederländischer Hand. Vielleicht hat Gott, als die Worte nicht mehr genügten, sich selbst gewagt. Dieses Buch verfolgt jene Spur.
