Fun with Words contains photocopiable creative activities that will stretch and challenge more able Key Stage 2 pupils, especially those in Years 5 and 6. The activities link closely to the new (September 2014) National Curriculum for England, encouraging pupils to enjoy, understand and manipulate language. Fun with Words provides activities which pupils will enjoy doing and that will make learning about words fun. By playing with words, children will not only extend their vocabularies, improve their spelling and develop their language skills; they will also come to understand the etymology and morphology of words: where they come from, how they work and how they can be used.
