The development of environmental knowledge, with a focus on the preservation and conservation of the environment, is possible with the dissemination of environmental education, which should encompass all levels of education, with teacher training being its main building block and maintainer. With this in mind, the aim was to verify the knowledge of Biology students at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI) about the main environmental concepts, their level of satisfaction with the environmental measures presented at the University, the subjects on the course that focus on the environmental area, as well as the level of interest of the students in the search for the development of environmental knowledge. In this sense, this work presents the perception of Biology students about environmentalism at university and the importance of the course in building environmental knowledge and awareness.
