Dylan the Great Heart Warrior was born with truncus arteriosus and an interrupted aortic arch. He was not expected to live through infancy. Dylan beat the odds and is now 29 years old. This is a book of God's promises for the 1 in 100 children born with congenital heart defects (CHD)! Over 40,000 children are born each year with CHD. There is no cure.
As a young parent, I could not imagine the adventures Dylan would have and how it would affect his big sister Keysha. Although very challenging at times, this journey has been one beyond our wildest dreams. It has reformed and reshaped all our lives, in a very beautiful and unexpected way. Not one of us knows when we will be called to our forever home in Heaven. Or, when circumstances will shipwreck our journey. I challenge you to live life beyond measure. Find peace in the battle and joy in the storm! Be the hero of your own story. Let your life count. You are the only you, and that's your superpower!
