In this poignant memoir, Bryan, a computer scientist and aspiring fiddle player, attempts to break free of his lonely, self-imposed shell, even though he has a hard time believing that's possible. He meets a guitar player named Catherin, the woman of his dreams. They form a bluegrass band together, and she helps him reconnect with his emotional, creative, and spiritual self. But just when things are going well, an unforeseen danger shatters their world. Set in the desert city of Phoenix, Arizona, during the late 1980s, The Doves of Synchronicity is a moving true story of love, loss, and spiritual renewal, woven together with seemingly disparate threads of metaphysics, artificial intelligence, and old-time fiddle music -- as seen through the eyes of a man who remains open to the mysteries of life. Memories swirl by: hope, joy, sorrow -- a jumble of thoughts and feelings, music and song, interlaced with teasing glimpses into the unknown, as made manifest by a remarkable series of synchronicities ... -- Excerpt from Chapter 27.
