Many people, but especially certain groups such as people with physical or sensory impairments or migrants, are often excluded from the world of work or experience dequalifying treatment. The underlying causes and the effects that stigmatization, discrimination, and exclusion have on those affected and their lives are explored and discussed in this paper in a theoretical presentation and a qualitative study. In the course of this, the following questions are explored: What factors influence (promote or hinder) the professional integration of people with disabilities or with a migrant background into the world of work or in the workplace? What is necessary to promote and maintain positive influencing factors? The aim of this research work is to increase the opportunities for migrants and people with disabilities to participate in working life and society by raising awareness of stigmatization and discrimination, thereby enabling them to be reflected upon or even avoided in the future.
