The frequency of malocclusion in adults is equal (or) greater than that observed in children and adolescents. Until recent years adults seeking orthodontic treatment was unusual. Adults seeks treatment more often for esthetic reasons and hence is likely to have unreasonable expectations about the outcome of the treatment.
