The container-based production of high-quality forest seedlings will have an impact on the establishment, physiology, survival, and growth of forest seedlings, which could ensure greater success for forest plantings at reforestation sites. This study is part of the ECOPLANTMED research project, titled Ecological Use of Native Plants for Environmental Restoration and Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean Region (www.ecoplantmed.eu). The objective of this study is to evaluate the quality of five native young plants (Lavandula dentata L., Ruta chalepensis L., Laurus nobilis, Capparis spinosa L., and Myrtus communis) grown in three forest nurseries, using morphological parameters and quality indicators. The results obtained in this study showed that these indicators can be successfully used to monitor and assess the quality of seedlings produced in forest nurseries in Tunisia.
